The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has developed the following measures to manage the seasonal risk of Brown Moderated Stink Bug (BMSB) infestations in break bulk and containerized sea cargo shipped from the USA and Italy. The measures reinstate mandatory treatment requirements prior to the shipment of goods, and include some changes to the target goods requiring treatment.
Are you shipping any of the below products from USA or Italy to Australia? Then you need to be aware of the Quarantine requirements of doing so during the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug Season which runs from 1 September 2017 to 30 April 2018.
- Bulldozers, Graders, Road Rollers, etc
- Forklifts, Lifting and Handling Equipment
- Moving, Grading, Leveling, Excavating Equipment
- Ploughs and Agricultural Soil Prep
- Harvesting, Threshing or Agricultural Machinery
- Tree Fellers, Tree Harvesters
- Motor Vehicles
- Parts of Motor Vehicles
- Trailers, Semi Trailers
- Ships, Boats, Floating Structures
There are many mandatory treatment requirements for these items out of the USA and Italy during Stink Bug Season. They all depend on is your goods are New or Used, when they were manufactured, time of sailing from origin and how they have been shipped (Full Container or Break Bulk).
